Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Field Engineer to join our team, supporting fiber optic network testing and troubleshooting activities, including working with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in telecommunications or engineering, offering hands‑on experience in real‑world network environments and exposure to industry‑standard tools and technologies.

The role is field‑based and involves travel to various customer sites, where you will assist with testing, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with OTDR testing to identify faults such as breaks, bends, and signal loss in fiber optic cables.
  • Support engineers in troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic links.
  • Learn to operate and configure fiber testing equipment (e.g., OTDR devices).
  • Assist with fiber splicing, termination, and testing activities.
  • Support work across Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) environments.
  • Help interpret basic OTDR traces and test results under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and test reports.
  • Provide on‑site support during installations and testing activities.
  • Follow health & safety guidelines and industry best practices at all times.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Basic understanding of fiber optics, telecommunications, or networking (through education, internship, or training).
  • Experience testing fiber using OTDR.
  • Fiber testing and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to work independently when required, with guidance.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently (up to 80‑90%).
