This is a 13‑week travel assignment. The role requires a recent one‑year experience as a Cath Lab RN, a valid RN license per state regulations, current BLS and ACLS certifications, and persisting licenses. Preferred qualifications include PALS or ENPC certifications, RCIS certification, or other relevant licenses.
SummaryThe Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting during procedures, monitoring recovery, and maintaining equipment while working closely with cardiologists and the cath lab team.
Essential Work Functions- Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
- Assist in positioning patients and placing EKG electrodes and cardiac leads.
- Assist physicians during procedures: placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other interventions.
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and waveforms.
- Assist in arterial/venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to recovery.
- Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during intervention.
- Support post‑procedure care and ensure smooth transition to the next phase.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment; ensure proper stocking.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills.
- Remain stationary and move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

- Cope with frequent contact with the public and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Maintain visual acuity and effective communication.
- Perform tasks under close supervision or independently; handle irregular schedules and continuous concentration.
