Overview
Wyoming Behavioral Institute, located in Casper, WY, is an 85-bed psychiatric hospital providing excellent care to children, adolescents and adults.
Job SummaryA salaried physician-level position for Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C). Conduct examinations, prescribe medications, and provide diagnostic and therapeutic services under physician supervision. Includes responsibilities in primary care areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and surgery.
Compensation & Schedule- Salary: $125,000 – $145,000 (based on license level, education & experience)
- Full‑time salaried position;
Monday‑Friday with some weekend work for supplemental compensation.
- Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses, including injections and suturing wounds.
- Consult with physicians as needed and refer complicated cases outside of scope.
- Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
- Document History & Physical after assessing patients upon admission.
- Triage patient calls, evaluate problems, and respond to emergencies (including CPR).
- Counsel patients and families on preventive health care.
- Document patient information in the medical record and maintain department statistical databases for research.
- Graduated from an accredited NP, FNP, or PA program and licensed in the State of Wyoming (with required licensure).
- Prescriptive authority in Wyoming.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in therapeutic or clinical treatment, including acute care, psychiatric acute care, residential care, partial care, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of developmental tasks for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients and ability to apply this knowledge in assessment and care planning.
- 21 years of age or older; able to pass a background check and drug screen.
