What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental programs designed to prevent accidents, injuries, property damage, and environmental harm while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Travel up to 75% to drilling site locations, including on-site presence for rig moves, working with drilling crews to ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety and environmental policies.
- Conduct monthly inspections of drilling rigs and Rig/Weld Shop facilities in accordance with safety guidelines and procedures; maintain inspection records and produce detailed reports for management.
- Collaborate with company environmental staff and regulatory agency representatives to ensure compliance with environmental quality standards, industry practices, and regulatory changes.
- Conduct on-site safety training programs for drilling crews and administer company safety award programs.
- Ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard, including maintaining accessible Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals on each rig.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents; prepare and submit incident reports to management and other entities as required.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, accidents, and equipment damage.
- Remain current on regulatory changes in occupational safety, health, and environmental standards applicable to company operations.
- Manage field and office priorities while providing regular status updates to management.
- Review procedures and practices; recommend and implement improvements to enhance safety and environmental performance.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- High school diploma and three (3) years of rig experience with a safety and environmental focus, including experience working with drilling crews, equipment, regulators, consultants, and operators; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- A college degree in related field(s).
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
