Events Coordinator

Store - CASPER, WY

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including kids birthday parties, within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for, ensuring a fast checkout experience. Complete operational tasks such as truck unloads, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to support brand promises.

• Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate party add‑ons such as goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks, including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Provide fast and friendly checkout.
• Engage customers on rewards program and private label credit card enrollment.
• Educate customers on Voice of Customer survey.
• Assist with omni‑channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store.
• Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
• Perform Store In Stock Optimization and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrinkage and safety programs.
• Adhere to SOPs and company programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
• Interact respectfully, remaining positive in difficult situations, and promote company values.
• Cross‑trained in custom framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance.

• Energetic, enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages.
• Excellent people, written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills, and active listening.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

• Experience working with children and children’s events.

• Ability to remain standing for long periods.
• Move throughout the store.
• Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
• Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
• Ability to perform essential functions with assistance if needed.

• Public retail store setting with climate‑controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate‑controlled.
• Occasional outdoor work retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
• Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
• Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
