Position Summary

The Sales Director – Commercial & Industrial (C&I) will lead business development, account management, and sales execution for non‑utility customers
, including data centers, large industrial manufacturers, mining operations, and commercial facilities
. This senior role will oversee a regional team of Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers
, driving growth across multiple sectors and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives for revenue, profitability, and market share.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of industrial power systems, EPC relationships, and transformer applications in complex engineered‑to‑order environments. This position combines strategic leadership and hands‑on customer engagement
, making it a pivotal part of Virginia Transformer’s commercial expansion strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy for the C&I segment, targeting industrial, commercial, and data center clients.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers to achieve growth and margin objectives.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with large industrial customers, EPCs, OEMs, and commercial developers.
  • Partner with Applications Engineering, Project Management, and Operations to ensure proposal accuracy, technical alignment, and on‑time project delivery.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and long‑term agreements that optimize profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify emerging trends and customer needs within the data center, manufacturing, and industrial infrastructure markets.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Product Development teams to align offerings with market opportunities.
