Position: Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist (West LA)

Overview

Tandem Diabetes Care is looking for a Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist to promote and sell Tandem Diabetes products within an assigned territory (West LA region: Long Beach, Beverly Hills, Torrance, Santa Monica). Responsibilities include clinical and sales support, product training, building relationships with healthcare professionals, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for clinical services and partnering with a Territory Manager to promote and sell Tandem products.
  • Identify potential customers, establish and develop business relationships to facilitate sales.
  • Provide clinical and sales support, product education to trainers, physicians, and staff.
  • Provide Tandem product training and support to patients.
  • Develop strategies with Territory Manager to address clinical concerns and ensure product sales and retention.
  • Use tools to identify sales leads and gather necessary prospecting information.
  • Promote Tandem’s market position and differentiate products and services.
  • Educate prospects/customers on industry trends, web-based solutions, Tandem products, services, outcomes, and population health management issues.
  • Complete all product training, documentation, and communication with HCPs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with HCPs to support sales.
  • Handle initial and ongoing recertification of contracted and non-contracted Tandem Pump Trainers.
  • Collaborate with support specialists to identify and address post-sale product issues and education needs.
  • Keep records updated in CRM for all business dealings.
  • Establish and maintain a territory call cycle to minimize administrative time.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies including HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
  • Submit reports to Regional Sales Manager and work with Regional Clinical Manager on clinical responsibilities and compliance.
Qualifications
  • RN (BSN preferred), RD, or RPh or equivalent education and applicable experience.
  • Advanced Diabetes Education Professional Credential (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified, Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certified or eligible).
  • 2 years’ experience coordinating and conducting patient education on diabetes technology (video remote education preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a clinical expert on diabetes, diabetes technology, Automated Insulin Delivery, and diabetes management software.
  • Skilled at presenting educational material to various audiences.
  • Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing market; see change as an opportunity.
  • 1 year related diabetes/endocrinology industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel at least 80% of the time in the assigned territory; valid driver’s license, insurance, good driving record.
Compensation & Benefits

Base pay: $111,150 to $135,850 annually. Target earnings: $136,150 to $160,850 annually. Total compensation includes incentive, equity, and robust benefits (medical, dental, vision, HSAs, flexible savings). Paid holidays: 11. Paid time off: minimum 20 days (year
1). 401(k) plan with company match available.
