Knife River is currently accepting applications for a Mechanic. This is a great opportunity, for the individual that enjoys learning and multi-tasking. We are seeking applicants for our shop and field services. The Mechanic is responsible for assisting with maintenance and repairs to construction equipment and crusher equipment. This is a full-time position that will require occasional overtime and weekend work.
Job ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a skilled Crusher Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience repairing and maintaining crushers and related equipment.
- Inspect and diagnose problems with crushers and related equipment
- Repair and replace worn or broken parts as needed
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is running efficiently
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Crusher Mechanic, we are willing to train the right person.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
- Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.
- Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
- Head movement/rotation moving head in any direction (up, down, side to side).
- Requires climbing in and out of Ready-Mix and Flatbed Trucks multiple times a day.
- Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment.
- Exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
- Exposure to outside working conditions; to cold or hot temperatures.
