ResponsibilitiesIncumbents are responsible for operating light and medium standard maintenance equipment in order to complete a variety of maintenance and repair activities to utility systems, landfill, streets, sidewalks, curbs, and valley gutters; directing traffic; excavating; and cleaning and maintaining equipment.
Receives general supervision from higher‑level supervisory and management staff in assigned division.
Knowledge- Operation and maintenance requirements of trucks and light equipment preferred.
- Basic infrastructure and maintenance practices and procedures preferred.
- Practices, methods, and materials used in construction and maintenance work preferred.
- Applicable tools and equipment utilized in the trade preferred.
- Safe work practices preferred.
- Perform manual labor.
- Be on call and respond to call‑outs after hours, on weekends, and holidays, within the specified timeframe required by division.
- Learn, use, and care for applicable tools and equipment.
- Routinely demonstrate the City of Casper core values.
- Follow all City safety rules and procedures and immediately report all accidents/incidents or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
- Operate a variety of less complex power‑driven equipment.
- Attach auxiliary pieces of equipment to power‑driven equipment.
