We are currently searching for a diesel truck & trailer mechanic with the ambition to become an ASME certified welder at our Casper, WY location!
Shift
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $20.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.
Key Responsibilities- Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance on chemical tanker trailers
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS systems, and suspension components
- Inspect and repair tanker barrel integrity, baffles, weld seams, and structural components
- Service and repair valves, manways, gaskets, vapor recovery systems, and discharge systems
- Perform pressure/vacuum testing and leak detection
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (if equipped)
- Conduct aluminum and stainless-steel welding/fabrication as needed
- Maintain proper documentation of inspections and repairs
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat regulations
- Maintain safe shop practices and follow OSHA guidelines
- 3+ years of heavy-duty trailer or tanker mechanic experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT tanker requirements and hazmat regulations
- Experience working on chemical tankers strongly preferred
- Welding experience (TIG/MIG preferred for stainless/aluminum)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop/outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and working at heights 4-12 feet.
- Must be able to fit through a 16" manway.
