Field Service Technician

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.

* Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.

* Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.

* Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.

* Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.

* Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

* Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

* Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Microsoft Office knowledge is required.

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints required.

* Mechanical / Welding experience 2 years required, 3-5 years preferred).

* Hydraulic / Pneumatic troubleshooting experience 2 years required, 3-5 years preferred).

* Basic electronics knowledge required.

* Knowledge of oil and gas field components preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass DOT driving background check and physical - must be capable of achieving NOV driver status for vehicles over 10,001 lbs.

* Must be able to pass "SMAW, 3G and 4G weld test prior to employment

* Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (2-3 weeks)

* On-call as needed.

* Employee provides basic tools.

* Work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 100 feet.

* Work in limited spaces.

* Requires standing 95% of the workday.

* Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools.

* Requires repetitive movements.

* Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

* Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.

* Requires pushing and pulling objects.
