Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview

We are a PEOPLE-first company committed to giving team members tools, training, and time to work productively and safely. We are seeking applicants for a Mechanic to support shop and field services. The Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repairs to construction equipment and crusher equipment.
This is a full-time position with occasional overtime and weekend work. Working hours are Monday through Friday, depending on workload.
- Must be able to read and understand operating/maintenance manuals and/or technical schematics.
- Conduct inspections of the company fleet for on-road and off-road equipment in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Interact with vehicle/equipment operators, job site personnel, office personnel, vendors and technical support to determine the level of service or repair needed for equipment or job needs.
- Know how to operate company equipment to diagnose problems and communicate findings to management.
- Operate and maintain overhead and truck-counted cranes.
- Maintain equipment and tools in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Perform repairs on vehicles and equipment in adverse weather/environments (hot or cold, night or day).
- Operate equipment such as forklift or skid loader in a safe and efficient manner.
- Organize shop inventory to be safely and efficiently retrieved or stored.
- Complete required paperwork for accounting, payroll, operations or material inventory as directed.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent unsafe actions, processes and behaviors.
- Wear company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.
- Must work as needed, including overtime, nights and weekends due to job/trip unpredictability.
- Regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Class C license
- Self-motivated and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Basic skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with Class B trucks/construction equipment.
- Superior cutting and welding skills for field repairs and fabricating projects.
- Ability to perform the duties of a mechanic.
- Ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous and respectful toward others.
- Class B License with tanker endorsements.
- Hazmat
- Forklift experience.
- Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
- Heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
- Head movement/rotation in various directions.
- Requires climbing in and out of Ready-Mix and Flatbed Trucks multiple times a day.
- Wear company-issued PPE as required.
- Exposure to dust, fumes and gases; exposure to outside working conditions (cold or hot temperatures).
