Overview

At Ener Mech, we are dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality solutions that support critical energy and infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting construction and operational activities by safely operating a variety of heavy machinery in demanding field environments.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently to complete construction or infrastructure projects
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Read and interpret site plans, schematics, and construction drawings to execute tasks accurately
  • Coordinate with team members and supervisors to maintain workflow and project timelines
  • Adhere to safety protocols, wear protective gear, and report hazards or accidents
  • Assist in installation of utilities, structures, or paving operations as required
  • Keep records of work performed, including hours, tasks, and equipment issues
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is typically required
  • Experience operating various heavy machinery is preferred, with some positions requiring 1–2 years of practical experience
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina to handle machinery and work in diverse weather conditions
  • Ability to read technical manuals, prints, and schematics
  • Knowledge of safety standards, hazard recognition, and emergency procedures
  • Valid driver’s license and, in some cases, certifications for specific equipment
Work Environment

Heavy Equipment Operators work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, often on construction sites, roads, or utility projects. The role requires:

  • Walking, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, lifting, and carrying materials
  • Coordinating hands, eyes, and feet to operate machinery controls
  • Ability to travel or work away from home for extended periods
