Automation Technician

Closed Loop Industrial (CLI) is a Wyoming-based industrial automation and controls company serving oil & gas and industrial customers. We specialize in PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation and controls, industrial communications, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support. Our focus is simple: practical automation that works reliably in the real world.

CLI is looking for an Automation Technician based in the Greater Casper Area. This is a hands‑on field position supporting operating facilities throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

The technician will install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC systems, control equipment, communications, and related automation infrastructure. Work will include everything from instrumentation and I/O troubleshooting to system upgrades, commissioning, and diagnosing control or communications problems in the field.

• Industrial instrumentation, electrical, or automation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with 4-20mA instrumentation, PLC I/O, control circuits, and field wiring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control documentation.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs/SCADA, industrial networking, and communications.
• Oil & gas or similar industrial field experience strongly preferred.
• Able to work independently, communicate directly with customers, and take ownership of problems.
• Strong commitment to safe, professional field work.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
• Technical education is a plus, but practical field experience, troubleshooting ability, and willingness to learn matter more to CLI than a degree.
