Vistabeam is looking for a reliable, hard-working Underground Laborer to join our team in Casper, Wyoming. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with a field crew to construct and maintain underground fiber optic infrastructure, bringing high-speed broadband internet to local communities across the region.

This is an entry-level to mid-level opportunity perfect for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, values job site safety, works well in a crew environment, and wants to learn new technical skills in utility construction. No prior underground fiber experience is required—we will train the right candidate.

• Site Preparation & Restoration: Dig, shovel, rake, grade, backfill, and restore work areas to their original or improved condition following excavation.
• Hand & Power Tool Operation: Safely operate hand tools (shovels, rakes, tamping rods) and power tools (drills, jackhammers, saws) according to project requirements.
• Underground Infrastructure Installation: Assist with installing conduit, handholes, vaults, pedestals, and related underground fiber optic plant infrastructure.
• Utility & Excavation Support: Support utility exposure (potholing), trenching, back filling, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations.
• Equipment Learning & Operation: Safely operate or learn to operate heavy machinery—including mini excavators, hydro vac trucks, horizontal directional drills, and skid steers—based on training and project needs.
• Material & Site Logistics: Load, unload, and transport materials, clean and maintain equipment and tools, and keep job sites clean, safe, and organized.
• Safety & Teamwork: Follow all safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, traffic control protocols, and crew leadership directions at all times.

• Physical Capability: Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly, and perform demanding physical labor including bending, kneeling, digging, lifting, and walking on uneven terrain throughout the workday.
• Outdoor Stamina: Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, wind, heat, rain, sun, and changing Wyoming weather.
• Valid Driver’s License: Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Growth Mindset: Strong work ethic, dependability, a positive attitude, and a strong eagerness to learn new construction skills, complete training, and take on increased responsibilities.

• Prior experience in underground construction, utility installation, landscaping, or heavy equipment operation.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or Class B CDL) is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with utility locating (811 protocols) and safe excavation practices.

Pay Range: $21.00 – $26.00 per hour
