Journeyman Electrician/Inspector Trainee – Castle Pines, CO

SAFEbuilt is a community development organization with over 1,600 experts dedicated to infrastructure improvement and public safety. We are seeking a talented Journeyman Electrician/Inspector Trainee to join our team and contribute to quality construction inspections across the region.

• Perform field inspections during various stages of construction.
• Read and examine plans and specifications when required.
• Report violations and maintain files/records.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures.
• Interpretation of codes on the field and ability to provide code‑compliant solutions.
• Ability to positively interact with staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment.

• CO Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.
• ICC Electrical Inspector Certification preferred.
• Additional ICC certifications are a plus.
• Electrician experience required.
• Experience in municipal code inspections preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 25–50 pounds (e.g., inspection tools, plans, or small equipment).

• Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans, technical documents, and observe construction details.
• Ability to detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection.
• Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments.

• Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers or tablets for reporting.

• Work performed in both office and field settings.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and construction site environments (noise, dust, uneven terrain).
• Frequent driving between inspection sites and company locations within the region.
