SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in Denver, Colorado, the Regional Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader for the Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska region of Frontline Road Safety Group, owning the integrity of financial reporting across multiple operating entities and standardizing accounting practices as these businesses are integrated into a cohesive regional platform. Reporting directly to the Regional Finance Leader, this role is responsible for the month-end close, technical accounting, internal controls, job-cost accuracy, and compliance across the region.
This leader has oversight of the regional accounting team and works closely with shared services and business-line finance operations across areas such as fleet, equipment, materials, billing, and estimating support.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who brings strong technical accounting and internal-controls expertise, thrives in a multi-entity environment undergoing integration, and enjoys building disciplined close processes, controls, and reporting structures while partnering closely with operational leadership.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities encompass ownership of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for the region, with supporting involvement in planning, analysis, and operational finance. Specific responsibilities include:
- Own the regional month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policy.
- Manage the consolidation of multiple operating entities, ensuring intercompany transactions, eliminations, and account reconciliations are complete and well-documented.
- Oversee technical accounting matters relevant to a project-based business, including revenue recognition (e.g., over-time / percentage-of-completion), lease accounting, and purchase accounting for acquired entities.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and supporting reconciliations across all regional entities.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting packages to corporate finance, meeting all close-calendar deadlines and reporting standards.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal control environment across the region, including controls over billing, purchasing, payroll, job costing, equipment costing, and revenue recognition.
- Serve as the regional point of contact for external and internal auditors, coordinating audit requests, PBC schedules, and timely resolution of findings.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, statutory requirements, and multi-state tax filing and support obligations.
- Document and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and desktop manuals to drive consistency across regional entities.
