Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will lead the cost estimation process for electrical projects, ensuring accurate budgeting and pricing that align with project specifications and client expectations. Your expertise will help drive successful project bids, optimize costs, and support our continued reputation for excellence in the electrical construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Review construction drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications to develop precise estimates
  • Utilize estimating software such as Heavy Bid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals
  • Analyze material costs, labor requirements, and subcontractor quotes to establish competitive pricing
  • Ensure compliance with electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors through effective negotiation and communication
  • Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the estimating process and adjusting estimates as needed
  • Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include scope of work, cost breakdowns, and schedules
Requirements
  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems and projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and construction drawing review
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Heavy Bid, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with electrical codes including NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance standards
  • Ability to accurately estimate material costs, labor hours, and overall project budgets
  • Excellent negotiation skills for working with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Construction site experience or construction management background is highly desirable
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, team members, and vendors on project scope and pricing
