Communities & Classes Coordinator
Description

The Communities & Classes Coordinator at Plum Creek Church plays a pivotal role in managing all communities and classes at Plum Creek. This person is responsible for putting the vision for communities and classes at Plum Creek into action. They will provide leadership, management, communication, coordination, and administrative support for ongoing community and class opportunities for people in various stages of life and faith.

This role directly reports to the Discipleship Pastor and is a part of the Discipleship Department.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all classes for adults at Plum Creek. This includes empowering contributors, managing registration, and overseeing the ongoing maintenance of the class structure.
  • Maintain a pathway for community engagement at Plum Creek Church. Creating and implementing onramps, opportunities, and pathways that encourage those in Castle Rock (and the surrounding communities) to Live Life Together.
  • Implementing and overseeing the use of the building during the week as a “third space”, creating a front door to those in the community beyond the weekend services.
  • Administrative responsibilities for all communities and classes at Plum Creek.
Job Specific Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Class Coordination:
    Plan and oversee the schedule for all classes, ensuring a diverse and enriching curriculum that aligns with Plum Creek’s values and mission. Collaborate with the Follow Pastor to ensure Alpha and Follow Cohorts are aligned with the broader class strategy, including consistent marketing, communication, and execution.
  • Staff Presence & Class Leadership:
    Be present during all daytime and evening classes while they are meeting in the building, serving as the primary staff representative. Oversee room hosts and evening operations, provide support and direction to contributors, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure classes are safe, hospitable, and aligned with Plum Creek's standards and values.
  • Community Group Coordination:
    Collaborate with contributors to create, promote, and manage communities ensuring a diverse range of groups that align with Plum Creek’s values and mission. Partner with the Homes & Neighborhoods Coordinator to create consistent opportunities for people to build relationships and live out Plum Creek’s value of Live Life Together both within and beyond the church.
  • Contributor Recruitment and Training:
    Recruit, train, and manage contributors for support roles (room hosts, table hosts, community group leaders, etc.) within our communities and classes. Ensure contributors are well-prepared, supported, motivated and held accountable.
  • Administrative Duties:
    Handle the administrative tasks related to community and class coordination, including class registration processes, attendance tracking, and communication with participants and contributors.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Collaborate with church leadership to develop and update curriculum and class materials that are engaging, educational, and reflective of Plum Creek’s values.
  • Community Engagement:
    Serve as a liaison between the church and the community, promoting our communities and classes and encouraging participation from both church attenders and the wider community. Collaborate with the Homes & Neighborhoods Coordinator to create clear and consistent pathways for people to connect, build community, and take meaningful steps toward living out Live Life Together.
  • Event Planning:
    Plan and execute events related to communities and classes, including kickoff events, contributor training and appreciation, and special workshops or seminars.
  • Feedback and Improvement:
    Gather feedback from participants and contributors.
  • General Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
    • Demonstrate good stewardship with the budget set by the Discipleship Pastor for all communities and classes.
    • Meeting with the Discipleship Pastor weekly
    • Attends Department Staff Meetings once a month
    • Attends All-Staff Meetings once a month
    • Support in word and action of Plum Creek’s mission, vision and staff.
    • Ongoing personal growth and learning both personally and spiritually
