At Brekke Veterinary Clinic, we practice progressive, high-level medicine within a general practice setting. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians are deeply involved in patient care, diagnostics, surgical planning, anesthesia, and recovery. RVTs are trusted as essential medical professionals for the patients, clients, and veterinary team.
What Sets This Role ApartThis is not routine, checkbox medicine. You’ll be part of a team that regularly manages:
- Advanced soft-tissue surgeries include (but not limited to) oral surgery, splenectomy, foreign body, cystotomy, and more
- High-acuity patients requiring thoughtful monitoring and pain management
- Detailed surgical workflows and recovery planning
- Close collaboration with veterinarians who value technician autonomy, precision, and clinical judgment.
- A team culture grounded in professionalism, empathy, unity, and a proactive mindset.
All duties are performed within state practice acts for CVTs/LVTs/RVTs and under veterinarian direction.
Advanced Surgical & Anesthesiology- Develop, perform, and monitor anesthesia protocols for complex cases
- Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for all surgical procedures
- Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
- Assist veterinarians during routine and advanced surgeries
- Recover patients and coordinate post-operative care with the medical team
- Prepare, maintain, and efficiently turn over surgical and dental suites
- Perform radiology, collect and process diagnostic samples
- Execute accurate drug calculations, CRIs, and unit conversions
- Maintain detailed, accurate medical records
- Communicate consents, treatment plans, financial expectations, patient updates, and post-operative care
- Facilitate treatment plans and delegate patient care tasks to support positive outcomes
- Deliver personalized care for both patients and clients
- Anticipate the needs of patients, clients, and teammates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and high-functioning clinical environment
- Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
- Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and analgesia
- Competence in drug calculations, including CRIs, dosage conversions, and unit calculations
- Strong collaboration skills with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and CSRs
- Proficiency in
- Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Diagnostic sample collection and processing
- Radiology (including proper positioning and safety practices)
- Experience with advanced soft-tissue or complex surgical cases
- Ability to safely lift and restrain patients (with assistance when appropriate)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Willingness to assist with patient handling, cleaning, and maintaining a safe work environment
- Interest in providing mentorship, training, or leadership within the technical team
