Position Summary

Sam's Club Tire and Battery Center (TBC) Associate responsible for maintaining facility and sales floor safety, organizing and merchandising the TBC sales floor, assisting members with tire and battery orders, providing expert member service, driving sales and service excellence, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety sweeps, enforce forklift and hazardous material handling requirements, and correct or report unsafe situations.
  • Organize, stock, zone, and merchandize the TBC sales floor and manage returns, shrink, and damaged goods.
  • Stock merchandise, set up and clean product displays, sign and price merchandise, and secure fragile/high‑shrink items.
  • Monitor tire and battery order status and assist members with installation appointments.
  • Communicate lead‑time changes, order cancellations, and alternative installation options to members.
  • Provide member service and recommendations, greeting members, identifying needs, and resolving concerns.
  • Explain warranties and product options using Sam’s Garage and reference materials.
  • Promote TBC offerings to increase member awareness and sales.
  • Triage and prioritize service workflow in TBC service bays, manage the queue, and coordinate with the Team Lead or Technicians.
  • Apply knowledge of safety protocols, industry guidelines, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, and point‑of‑sale processes.
  • Use digital tools and handheld devices to plan sales and improve the service experience.
  • Act as a brand advocate, model high‑quality service, and assist in training other associates.
  • Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges with appropriate procedures.
  • Maintain all required documentation and comply with company policies, ethics, and integrity standards.
  • Collaborate with managers, co‑workers, and cross‑departmental teams to meet service goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Experience in auto service industry or retail preferred.

* The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
