Compensation RangeAnnual Salary: $73,025.00 - $85,675.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This JobThe main purpose of this job is to drive new customers and sales through proactive networking, effective relationship management, and referral generation with a strong focus on acquiring new clients and expanding existing client relationships.
Essential Functions- Build and manage a robust, high-quality prospect pipeline while maintaining and expanding strong client relationships.
- Proactively develop, expand, and maintain a strong network of referral sources and centers of influence by participating in outreach activities with assigned customers and target prospects with the objective to acquire new business.
- Identify and close new to bank relationships and develop new business primarily with prospects, as well as existing clients within assigned territories.
- Participate in independent and/or joint calling with product partners to ensure a coordinated approach to customer success.
- Conduct sales calls and move each prospect through the sales cycle from first appointment to booking new business. Set appointments with prospects through the telephone, email, and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain strong sales records through consistent, accurate use of bank systems to manage pipeline activities and forecasts.
- Champion a client focused culture and ensure all go-to-market activities are aligned with Commerce’s values and growth objectives. Bring forward insights, innovation, and recommendations that accelerate growth in the region.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong relationship management skills, with a focus on lead generation.
- Proven track record within a team selling and lead sharing environment.
- Ability to operate with autonomy and accountability—creating structure, momentum, and results without constant direction.
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements.
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 5+ years new customer acquisition sales or related experience required, preferably within the banking field.
- Series 6 & 63 licensure preferred, or able to obtain within a designated time frame.
- NMLS required, or able to obtain within a designated time frame.
