Client Advocate – Make a Difference, Help Others Find Stability and Hope
Catholic Charities is hiring a part‑time Client Advocate to support individuals and families facing housing or economic instability. You’ll provide strength‑based case management, connect clients to critical resources, and help them build paths toward lasting stability—all in a welcoming, mission‑driven environment.
Position Highlights- $20.70 – $22/hour | 28 hours/week | Mon–Fri, 8:30 am–4:00 pm

- H.S. diploma/equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred.
- Experience with and sensitivity to issues affecting low income and homeless populations.
- Two years of experience in the human services field preferred.
- Bilingual or fluent (English/Spanish) is not required but a plus.
- Empathetic and compassionate character with excellent communication (verbal and written), problem‑solving, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationships that encourage openness, candor, and trust both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to apply culturally appropriate skills in interactions with clients, co‑workers, volunteers, partner agencies, and other community members.
- Authentic personal commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
- Ability and willingness to work within the established structure of the Castle Rock Department and Catholic Charities.
- High level of self‑motivation, enthusiasm, and team‑oriented work ethic, with the ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and multitask in a time‑sensitive and fast‑paced environment.
- Basic math and analytical skills to perform calculations (e.g., budgeting, income vs expense) and interpret results to support case management.
- Ability to follow directions and interpret policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in data entry, documentation, and record‑keeping.
- Demonstrated self‑starter and ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to travel by automobile, as needed, in the course of the position.
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings and special events.
- Must successfully complete background clearance.
- Conduct initial client screening and intake to gather critical service needs.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to gather information directed at identified concerns.
- Provide strength‑based case management services; build rapport, conduct needs assessments, and develop effective case plans based on agreed goals, desired outcomes, and time frames.
- Provide appropriate services or referrals and monitor outcomes over time.
- Manage cases related to self‑sufficiency programs in partnership with Douglas County.
- Assist in the development of procedures, policies, programs, and services to promote client success.
- Perform data entry into the case management database (EmpowOR or similar) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of client information.
- Direct clients to appropriate partner agencies and maintain relationships with referral organizations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining an accurate list of referral sources.
- Schedule may include evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work with people in crisis with a calm, positive, and understanding attitude.
- Complete trainings to build case management skills (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Protective Factors).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people representing a diverse range of socioeconomic levels.
- Ability to use sound judgment within policies to determine appropriate action.
- Ability to utilize technology relative to the performance of responsibilities.
- Majority of duties performed in an office environment.
