A Caregiver is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Amada Senior Care of East Bay and performs various personal care (non‑medical) services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. The Caregiver will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client.

Provide client services as directed by the Director of Operations or the Owners.

The Caregiver must demonstrate and execute the following position‑specific competencies to ensure effective, profitable, and client‑centered agency operations.

• Provide client services as directed by the Director of Operations or the Owners.
• Provide personal care to the client as applicable, including but not limited to:
• Bathing and personal hygiene
• Grooming, including oral care
• Assist the client with dressing and undressing
• Assist the client with toileting activities
• Perform light housekeeping
• Change bed linens and make up the client’s bed
• Maintain an orderly client environment
• Perform meal preparation and clean up
• Assist in feeding the client, if necessary
• Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves
• Assist client in the self‑administration of medication (medication reminders)
• Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e., turn and reposition client; actively encourage movement)
• Assist client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care
• Provide client with help walking and transferring
• Measure and record height and weight
• Measure and document intake and output, as required
• Assist in providing a safe environment for the client and promote quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards
• Assist client in walking and transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, shopping
• Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions
• Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation
