Travel RN - Neuro ICU

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure, at least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience, and Epic EMR proficiency.

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required, as reflected on application
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with ICP monitoring, EVD, and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Previous travel nursing experience required

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Care for neurological ICU patients including CVA/acute stroke, TBI, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• May float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU patients, including management of CVA, TBI, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer blood products and manage complex IV therapies
• Local candidates accepted at a lower local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request approved
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
