American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 5 years of experience and a CA RN license.
Details- Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Cares for patients with falls, sepsis, UTI, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and CHF exacerbation
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 5x8 hours,
- Every other weekend required
- On call as needed
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active CA RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required
- Experience accessing and managing ports preferred
- Experience with blood product administration
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, preferred
- Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings preferred
- Respiratory care skills including chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Genitourinary/renal skills including continuous bladder irrigation and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
- Feeding tube care and management experience
- Heparin protocol and PCA medication management experience preferred
- Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
- Orthopedic experience including ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and traction preferred
- Experience managing substance withdrawal preferred
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit managing complex medical conditions
- Respond to cardiac emergencies and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
- Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contract
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
