Overview

Highly-rated, fast-paced pet hospital in the East Bay is expanding and needs your help. Eden Pet Hospital is looking for an energetic, caring, responsible and hard-working individual with an outstanding work ethic to fill our Veterinary Assistant position.

Requirements
  • Animal handling experience and confidence
  • Ability to lift objects or pets of at least 50lbs
  • Recognize certain behaviors in animals
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology, common procedures and animal husbandry
  • Comfortable interacting with the public
  • Competent computer skills
  • Spell, alphabetize, and perform basic mathematics
  • Provide exceptional customer service
Responsibilities
  • Act as a direct assistant to veterinarians and coordinate the care of each patient
  • Get a history from the client
  • Assist the veterinarian during the examination
  • Keep meticulous notes on the medical findings
  • Record care recommendations for each patient
  • Serve in areas of animal care coordination and treatment, customer service, and record keeping
Additional Information

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people as much as they enjoy animals. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or similar environment is preferred. Please submit a brief paragraph with your resume explaining how your previous experience has prepared you for this position.

The base hourly range for this position is $18.00- $20.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
