The Lean Six Sigma Coordinator drives continuous-improvement (CI) activity across Live Happy’s cultivation facility. Working within the Operations team, the Coordinator facilitates kaizen events and improvement projects, trains and coaches staff on Lean Six Sigma tools, maintains KPI dashboards and standard work, and helps frontline teams solve problems and sustain gains. The role exists to serve supervisors and their teams — helping them improve the work they already own — rather than to audit them.
This is a hands‑on, floor‑present role in a living‑crop environment. Success depends less on theory than on curiosity, sound judgment, the trust of the people doing the work, and the ability to turn data into practical improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitation & project support
- Plan and facilitate kaizen events, value‑stream mapping sessions, and rapid improvement projects with cross‑functional teams.
- Guide teams through structured problem‑solving (A3, root‑cause analysis, FMEA) and help define, pilot, and implement countermeasures.
- Support and mentor Green Belt and White Belt project leads as they run improvements in their own areas.
Training & coaching
- Deliver and reinforce Lean Six Sigma training (White Belt and Green Belt) in English and, where possible, Spanish, adapting material for a diverse, labor‑heavy workforce.
- Coach supervisors and operators on CI tools and a continuous‑improvement mindset in day‑to‑day work.
Metrics, standards & sustainment
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards and visual management; track project impact on quality, throughput, yield, and cost.
- Develop and maintain standard work, SOPs, and visual controls, and support adherence over time.
- Document improvements and results so gains are measurable and durable.
Collaboration
- Partner with cultivation, post‑harvest, IPM, and software/IT teams to surface problems and align improvements with operational and data systems.
- Escalate risks and opportunities to operations leadership with clear, data‑supported recommendations.
- Problem-solving instinct. Naturally asks “what changed?” before assigning blame; reaches for root cause rather than quick fixes.
- Floor credibility. Able to earn the trust and cooperation of operators, trimmers, growers, and supervisors.
- Coachability. Comfortable being told they’re wrong; treats failed experiments as part of iterating.
- Data fluency. Can read charts and tracking data, spot trends, and reason from numbers (no advanced statistics required).
- Communication. Clear verbal and written communication; able to teach and facilitate groups.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant operations, cultivation, or process‑improvement experience.
- Comfortable working on‑site in a cultivation production environment.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher), or readiness to certify through C4’s internal program.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Experience in cultivation, agriculture, manufacturing, or another operations‑intensive setting.
- Familiarity with KPI dashboards, spreadsheets, and operational data systems.
- Prior experience leading improvement projects or training others.
Physical Requirements
- On‑site at the Cathedral City cultivation facility; regular time on the production floor and in grow environments (variable temperature and humidity).
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting associated with observing and improving floor processes.
