Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a qualified and compassionate Staff Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Banyan Palm Springs in Cathedral City, CA. The Coachella Valley has a strong and deeply rooted recovery community — and a real need for skilled, caring clinicians to support it. This role puts you at the center of that work, delivering direct nursing care within our inpatient behavioral health, substance use, and mental health treatment programs, with the backing of a nationally recognized organization behind you.

This is a meaningful role for someone who understands the recovery journey — through professional experience, personal experience, or both — and wants to show up consistently for people working hard to change their lives.

Banyan Treatment Centers is a leading national provider of intensive treatment for individuals facing substance use and mental health disorders. Backed by TPG’s Rise Fund, Banyan is rapidly expanding access to high-quality, compassionate care.

Why Join Our Team?
  • Community-centered care — the Coachella Valley's recovery community is close-knit, resilient, and growing. This role puts you in direct service of it, with the resources and reach of a national organization supporting your work.

  • Lived experience valued — personal familiarity with recovery is genuinely respected and welcomed on our team.
  • 12-hour shifts — fewer days, longer shifts, and more time to enjoy everything the desert has to offer.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance; whole and term life insurance; short- and long-term disability; 401(k) with employer match; paid time off and holidays; wellness incentives; and employee assistance and referral programs.

  • Assist in completing nursing assessments and admission documentation within established time frames, with assessments reviewed and co-signed by an RN as required

  • Monitor patient medical status, report changes promptly, and assist in initiating appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response
  • Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety concerns, reporting changes to the RN, provider, or treatment team as appropriate
  • Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk awareness, de-escalation, and patient safety interventions, escalating as required
  • Accurately transcribe, document, and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with licensure, accreditation, and organizational standards
