Position Summary
Cathedral City is seeking an exceptional Police Chief to lead the Cathedral City Police Department. The Chief will manage 82.5 sworn and non‑sworn personnel with a $21M budget, ensure public safety, and maintain one of the lowest crime rates in the Coachella Valley.
Key Priorities- Community Oriented Policing – Evaluate policies that increase community engagement and build trust.
- Recruitment & Retention – Develop strategies to attract and keep qualified staff.
- Technology & Innovation – Advance technology initiatives supporting officer and community safety, including DFR and the Coachella Valley Real Time Intelligence Center.
The ideal candidate will have executive‑level law‑enforcement experience, a passion for community service, and strong communication skills.
