INFORMS is looking for a Membership & Outreach Coordinator to join our team who thrives on volunteer leadership and enjoys bringing creative, innovative ideas to life. INFORMS is a 50-person staff team located in Catonsville, MD. INFORMS is a hybrid working environment with two days in our Catonsville office.
The Membership & Outreach Coordinator is a dynamic connector between INFORMS membership, communities, and teams across the organization. This role energizes membership and volunteer initiatives, helping to retain, grow, and inspire membership while supporting collaboration and operational excellence across assigned programs and volunteer groups.
The coordinator also serves as the staff liaison to Omega Rho Honor Society program and its executive committee. Working closely with staff, volunteers, and community leaders, the coordinator advances organizational goals and delivers consistent, high-quality member and volunteer experience.
Responsibilities Membership Engagement- Launch and grow innovative university engagement programs that foster community, campus activity, and INFORMS brand awareness, modeled after student chapter models but designed for greater flexibility and broader participation.
- Collaborate on planning and executing INFORMS membership retention, acquisition, and engagement initiatives using AMS/CRM, email, and online platforms.
- Promote new and existing INFORMS membership benefits to target groups (students, new graduates, etc.).
- Maintain and update INFORMS membership web content and collateral with membership & communities peers.
- Provide organizational and logistical support to the Omega Rho Honors Society and its Executive Committee, including coordinating committee calls and meetings, managing inventory, and actively supporting chapter health and engagement. Oversee invoicing and processing to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Provide logistical support to assigned cohorts (student chapters, Omega Rho, etc.) for meetings, events, and activities.
- Develop and implement strategies for volunteer engagement, onboarding, development, and retention.
- Coordinate and execute targeted email communications and campaigns to select community audiences, managing the transition from external platforms (e.g., Mail Chimp) to Hub Spot, and providing training, troubleshooting, and best practice guidance to community leaders.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align volunteer programs with INFORMS’ mission and strategic plan.
- Enhance volunteer processes and administration through Association Management /Customer Relationship Management systems capabilities.
- Maintain and update volunteer records, rosters, and relevant website sections.
- Track community activity and proactively support at-risk student chapters.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent required with a minimum of five years of experience, preferably in professional association or related field.
Travel 2 to 3 times per year
Physical RequirementsAbility to remain mobile throughout event spaces and perform required tasks for extended periods, with the stamina to work longer hours during conferences as needed. Mobility may be achieved with or without assistive devices, provided the essential job functions can be performed with reasonable accommodation.
