Chemistry Adjunct Faculty (Part‑Time)

Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part‑time Chemistry Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

• Teach college‑level chemistry courses and labs in‑person on the main Virginia Western campus.
• Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education.
• Actively participate in Chemistry department communication.

• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
• May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Must possess a Master’s degree in Chemistry or a Master’s degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry courses.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments; ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

• Doctorate degree in Chemistry.
• Teaching experience at the college level.
