Position: Administrative Management Technology (AMT) Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Administrative Management Technology (AMT) Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Virginia Western Community College is accepting applications for part‑time Administrative Management Technology (AMT) Adjunct Faculty in the School of Business, Technology, and Trades. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach college‑level courses in‑person on the main campus, as well as hybrid or distance learning/online courses.
  • Conduct courses in business and skill‑based subjects, including computer applications leading to MOS 2019 credentials, general office skills, business communications, and administrative management concepts.
  • Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.
  • Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
  • Engage with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
  • Participate actively in departmental communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administrative support or management, business administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in one of the above areas preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Office 2019/365 and Windows 10.
  • Two years of related occupational experience in business, management, or administrative support.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams; to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.

Additional Considerations:

  • MOS certifications in 2010 or later and office management experience.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom and teaching online.
  • Experience teaching in a college setting, particularly at the community college level.

Special Assignments: May be required to perform other duties as assigned or assist the agency or state government in emergency situations.
