Job Description

Teaching Friday evening and Saturday day classes in Welding within the School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education, write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments, and engage with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Faculty are also expected to participate actively in departmental communication.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Friday evening and Saturday day Welding classes.
  • Develop and write syllabi, exams, and curriculum materials.
  • Maintain currency in welding instruction and trends in community college education.
  • Participate in departmental communication and collaboration.
  • Engage with students of diverse backgrounds and varying abilities.
Qualifications (Minimum)
  • High school diploma with five years of current occupational experience in welding.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Additional Considerations
  • Possession of AWS certification and/or formal education in a certificate, apprenticeship program in welding from an accredited school.
