Responsibilities- Teach college‑level horticulture courses in‑person on the main Virginia Western campus, as well as hybrid or distance learning/online courses in Plant Propagation, Landscape Plants, Pest Management, Soils, Greenhouse Management, and Management of a Horticulture Business.
- Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education.
- Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum and assessments.
- Write and review course materials and participate actively in departmental communication.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five years recent occupational experience in horticulture.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with major in horticulture is an additional consideration.
