School of BTT Horticulture Adjunct Faculty (Part‑Time)

School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT)

• Teach college‑level horticulture courses in‑person on the main Virginia Western campus, as well as hybrid or distance learning/online courses in Plant Propagation, Landscape Plants, Pest Management, Soils, Greenhouse Management, and Management of a Horticulture Business.
• Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education.
• Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum and assessments.
• Write and review course materials and participate actively in departmental communication.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years recent occupational experience in horticulture.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with major in horticulture is an additional consideration.
