School of BTT Electrical Wiring (Friday Evening & Saturday Day) Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
Virginia Western Community College is a public two‑year institution located in Roanoke, VA. We are accepting applications for part‑time adjunct faculty to teach Electrical Wiring courses during Friday evenings and Saturday daytime sessions. Positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed.
Job DescriptionThe selected faculty member will teach college‑level courses, including Home Electric Power, Practical Electricity I‑II, and the National Electric Code. Instruction will take place in person on campus and/or via hybrid or distance learning formats. Faculty are expected to maintain current knowledge of the electrical trade and of community college instructional practices, and to be active participants in departmental communication.
Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and assess curriculum for designated courses.
- Prepare syllabi, examinations, and learning materials.
- Teach classroom and online courses to diverse student populations.
- Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development, and other assigned duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five years of occupational experience in the electrical field.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to design learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Capacity to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including assistance to state agencies during emergencies.
