Job Overview
Virginia Western Community College is seeking a part‑time Corporate & Professional Training Adjunct Faculty to design, develop, and deliver customized corporate and professional training programs for a diverse client base.
Work ScheduleVaries based on client needs. Instruction may be delivered online, on campus, or at corporate sites. Adjunct faculty are appointed on an as‑needed, contract‑by‑contract basis.
Responsibilities- Design and develop innovative, cutting‑edge training programs tailored to corporate and professional clients.
- Deliver instructional sessions using experiential learning strategies to foster metacognitive outcomes.
- Engage participants from diverse academic, socio‑economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Utilize current technology for course design, development, and implementation (ADDIE).
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and customization of existing programs.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including support to agency/state during emergencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Business Administration, Business Management, Educational & Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in industry training, corporate training, or community college teaching.
- Demonstrated history of instructional design and delivery.
- Mastery of adult learning principles and ability to motivate participants through experiential learning.
- Ability to deliver programmatic offerings on client sites and concurrently differentiate instruction.
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of current technology for course design and implementation (ADDIE framework).
- Experience with audience engagement and dynamic presentation skills.
- Knowledge of corporate strategic objectives, change management, and growth mindset concepts.
- Master’s degree in Adult Education, Business Administration, Business Management, Educational & Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of trending developments in related fields to infuse into course design and delivery.
Some travel within the Roanoke Valley region (approx. 25 miles).
