Radiography Faculty
Virginia Western Community College, a two‑year public institution of higher education, is accepting applications for a nine‑month Radiography faculty position in the School of Health Professions beginning the Fall 2026 semester. Candidates will also serve as Program Clinical Coordinator as outlined in the JRCERT standards for an accredited educational program in Radiography.
ResponsibilitiesTeach approximately 15 credits per semester (≈30 credits per academic year) across face‑to‑face, hybrid, and distance learning courses. Provide student advising, serve on college committees, and participate in departmental activities such as curriculum planning, program assessment, and community service. Lead the teaching of Radiation Science courses and coordinate clinical placements. Conduct a 15‑minute teaching session during the interview process. Expected summer teaching and clinical coordination duties will be part‑time and vary yearly.
SpecialAssignments
May be required to perform additional duties as assigned and assist the agency or state government in emergency situations.
Qualifications- Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree in progress with anticipated completion within 24 months of hire.
- Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
- Documented two years of current clinical experience in diagnostic imaging.
- Documented one year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT‑accredited program.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
- Current, unrestricted Virginia state R.T. (R) license or eligibility for licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or a health‑related field preferred.
- Master’s degree in a health‑related field preferred.
- Experience teaching in a community college setting preferred.
- Experience with classroom technology (Canvas, Panopto, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred.
- Experience providing instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings preferred.
Limited; occasional travel to a clinical site may be required; state vehicles may be available for most business‑related travel.
