School of BTT Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Adjunct Faculty; Part-Time

Overview

Virginia Western Community College is seeking part‑time Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Adjunct Faculty in its School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). Positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed.

• Teach course content in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and related subjects.
• Develop, deliver, and assess learning materials, including syllabi, exams, assignments, and assessments.
• Maintain curriculum currency and stay current with industry trends.
• Participate in departmental communication and collaborate with colleagues.
• May be assigned additional duties or assist in emergency situations as required.

• High school diploma and at least five years of current occupational experience in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or HVAC.
• EPA 608 Universal certification.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and develop inclusive learning strategies.
• Formal education from a certificate or higher degree program in HVAC from an accredited institution is preferred; other nationally recognized industry certifications are a plus.
