Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients in the outpatient Urology clinic. The APP will see a combination of new and established patients and work closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients with urologic conditions.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage new and established patients in the outpatient Urology clinic.
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and assess patient symptoms.
- Develop treatment recommendations and management plans for a variety of urologic conditions.
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and imaging results.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow‑up care.
- Collaborate with urologists and other members of the healthcare team to deliver coordinated, high‑quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support Carilion Clinic's commitment to exceptional patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current Virginia licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
- Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous urology or surgical specialty experience preferred but not required.
- Required:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS); PALS/NPR and ACLS as required for the position. - Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
- Computer literacy required for electronic medical record systems.
$ – $ (Employee pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.)
