Paint Representative

The paint department job involves assisting customers with color selection, mixing and tinting paint, and maintaining inventory, often requiring knowledge of paint types and application techniques.

Key responsibilities include operating paint mixers, cleaning and stocking shelves, providing expert advice on finishes, and adhering to safety protocols when handling chemicals.

• Customer Service: Greeting customers, offering advice on products, and matching custom colors.
• Color Matching & Mixing: Operating computerized color-matching equipment and mixing paint tint.
• Inventory Control: Stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and merchandising paint supplies (brushes, rollers).
• Maintenance: Keeping the mixing station, color bar, and paint department clean and safe.
• Safety Adherence: Properly handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous materials.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of paint types, primers, and application techniques.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, reach, and frequently lift up to 50-65 pounds.
• Detail-Oriented: Precision in mixing colors to avoid inaccuracies.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to assist customers effectively.
• Experience: Previous retail or paint-related experience is preferred but not always required.

• Hours: 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
