Position Summary

SUU's Community and Workforce Development (CWD) is a dynamic and entrepreneurial department within the Office of Regional Services. CWD offers a wide variety of industry-informed, skills-based courses and certificate programs, professional conferences and workshops, and non-credit-to-credit pathways for adult and working learners. These offerings are focused on upskilling the workforce, growing businesses and economic development opportunities, and elevating careers. Additionally, the department manages the SUU Leadership Institute and delivers leadership training to local, state and national audiences.

The Workforce Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in guiding educational initiatives that help adult and working learners progress from initial engagement through program completion, matriculation, and career advancement. This role coordinates development and continuous improvement efforts to build dynamic, outcomes-based learning experiences and micro credentials, and guides recruitment strategies and delivery of programs that align with workforce needs, institutional goals, and learner success outcomes.

Working collaboratively with faculty, employers, and community partners, the Workforce Engagement Coordinator connects learners to meaningful educational and career opportunities, ensuring programs stay responsive to evolving industry demands. Additionally, the position supports flexible entry points, stackable credential pathways, and long-term academic and career growth.

Essential Functions Project Management
  • Coordinate timelines, resourcesака and stakeholders to support educational offerings and matriculation initiatives on schedule.
  • Develop and manage project documentation, workflows, and tracking systems to maintain clarity and transparency across all program activities.
  • Facilitate regular communication between departments, academic advisors, and external partners to maintain project momentum and accountability.
Connection to Career and Degree Opportunities
  • Collaborate with community agencies, associations, and employers to connect adult learners with job opportunities and relevant degree pathways.
  • Actively engage in market research to understand and advise learners and colleagues about industry sector skills requirements and emerging career trends.
  • Coordinate with the CWD marketing team to ensure awareness of career and educational opportunities that support student matriculation and long-term success; participate in career fairs and other recruitment-related activities.
Curriculum Support
  • Update courses within learning management systems, including microcredentials that align with institutional standards, workforce needs Utilities and pathways to degree completion and ongoing connection with SUU.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and faculty to ensure formatting and delivery that support matriculating students.
  • Support the Director of Adult and Workforce Education as needed on digital and blended learning materials that foster interactive, student-centered learning opportunities and promote retention and progression toward credential attainment.
Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Two years of experience in project management, program coordination, or a related professional role.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience collaborating across departments or with external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep track of various program meetings, events, stakeholders, and learner pathway plans.
Supplemental Information

Position is contingent on funding.

This position works 12 months of the year, paid over 12 months of the year.
