Business Internship Coordinator

The Internship Coordinator will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and tracking on- and off-campus internships through the Career & Professional Development Center.

* Increase on- and off-campus internships as well as remote internship opportunities by developing relationships with on-campus faculty/staff and working closely with the Assistant Director for Employer Relations to develop employer relationships in the community, regionally, and nationally.

* Provide one-on-one internship coaching for students.

* Develop an expert understanding of internship policies/procedures at SUU as well as federal/state internship laws/regulations to ensure that both on-campus partners and employers are in compliance with such.

* Convene and support a regular faculty advisory committee on internships acting as the resident expert to answer questions and provide support as a resource.

* Meet regularly with Internship Coordinators in each academic department to develop relationships and offer ongoing support.

* Prepare and present internship presentations to classes and student organizations.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Oversee the implementation of the new on-campus Professional Internship Program and SUU Career Academy ensuring the growth and development of these programs.

Minimum Qualifications

* 2 Year / Associate degree.

* Strong oral/written communication skills.

* Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

* Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships.

* Demonstrated ability to learn new computer applications quickly.

* Demonstrated ability to work with a team to support departmental goals and operations.

* Ability to work with diverse groups and entities.

Preferred Qualifications

* 4 Year / Bachelors degree.

* Experience developing and/or managing internships.

* A demonstrated knowledge of current internship federal/state laws.
