Enoch Elementary School is seeking a Full Time 2nd Grade Elementary Educator beginning in August for the school year. This is a one‑year‑only position. The educator works under the direction of the school principal and is responsible for the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The teacher establishes effective rapport with pupils;
motivates pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed for a good foundation for further education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability. Professional relations will be developed and maintained with other staff and parents.
- Provide learning experiences and teach the course of study prescribed by the District approved curriculum utilizing the standards adopted by the State Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities.
- Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual pupil needs, and utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive pupil learning experiences which best utilize the available instructional time.
- Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Provide and maintain a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and on the school grounds.
- Devise and utilize techniques that accurately measure pupil progress.
- Evaluate pupil's academic and personal growth, keeping appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means discussing academic and personal progress; interpret school programs.
- Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
- Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
- Conform to district policies including attendance, absences and evaluations as required to acceptably perform the job functions.
- Create an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and/or interest centers.
- Maintain professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and through self‑selected professional growth activities.
- Cooperate in school‑wide supervision of students during out‑of‑classroom activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees and the sponsorship of pupil activities.
- Administer group standardized tests in accordance with the district test program.
- Select and requisition books and instructional materials; maintain required inventory records.
- Cooperate with the custodian(s) for the general housekeeping needs in the area(s) for which the teacher is assigned.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance are required.
