The Department of Filmmaking, Art & Design at Southern Utah University invites ongoing applications for a part‑time instructor pool covering topics such as Visual Art, Drawing, 2D Design, Art History, and Filmmaking. All positions are adjunct pool posts; openings may arise as the department chair turns to this pool to fill them. Applicants will not receive updates unless an opening occurs and the chair decides to interview that candidate.

Applicants should send a letter of interest, CV/resume, teaching philosophy statement, and contact information for three references.

• Deliver instruction appropriate to the topic, course description, learning outcomes, and student audience, fostering student success through an engaging learning environment.
• Manage the learning environment by maintaining accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing academic, conduct, and attendance policies.

• A terminal degree in an artistic discipline related to the course is preferred; a non‑terminal master’s or BFA is acceptable.
• Undergraduate teaching experience is desirable.
• Strong interest in working with students in an interdisciplinary department spanning multiple artistic majors.

• Personal work portfolio.
• Examples of student work, if applicable.

This position is contingent upon funding.

This position pays $900 per undergraduate credit.
