Boys & Girls Club of Southern Utah – After school Program, Gateway Prep Academy - Pay: $15.00/hour (part-time)
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday after school to 6:00 pm - Season:
August – May
The Boys & Girls Club of Southern Utah provides after school and summer programs to kids ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade throughout Southern Utah. Programs run Monday-Friday from after school to 6:00 pm during the school year.
Job ExpectationsPlans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Fine Arts, STEM, Physical Education, or Extra Curricular 'Specials'. May be responsible for implementing prevention education in alignment with grant requirements.
Key Roles (EssentialJob Responsibilities )
- Prepare engaging, fun lessons and activities in specific program area(s)
- Prepare Youth for Success
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
- Promote and stimulate program participation
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
- Ensure members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s)
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members
- Program Development and Implementation (effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for all members)
- Monitor and evaluate program services and activities
- Active Supervision of Youth: oversee member safety, program quality, and appearance of the organization at all times
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly organization staff meetings
- Contribute to a positive work culture
- Participate in special programs and/or events
- Plan and coordinate program clubs/specials
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Attend additional training outside of regular work hours
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Motivate youth and manage member behavior.
- Ability to work with the school community and general public.
- Plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required.
- Valid State Driver's License
