Part Time Elementary Computer Science Prep Paraprofessional – Three Peaks Elementary

This part‑time position (20 hours per week) supports the Iron County School District in Cedar City, UT by assisting classroom teachers with technology and leading computer lab activities for elementary students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support to students and student groups in the computer lab.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of classroom management systems.
  • Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers.
  • Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
  • Comply with district policies and procedures.
  • Support teachers in delivering technology‑enhanced instruction.
  • Help teachers ensure students receive instruction aligned with the State Technology Core.
  • Instruct students on keyboarding skills per State Core Standards and district programs.
  • Train students on proper use of district computer equipment in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Assist teachers in selecting lab activities correlated with classroom content.
  • Provide written and verbal feedback on student progress to the teacher as needed.
  • Supply teachers with materials defining the scope and sequence of courseware used.
  • Maintain an aesthetic environment conducive to effective learning in the lab.
  • Coordinate a lab schedule to maximize utilization.
  • Maintain the school's computer lab ensuring all equipment is in working order.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of equipment and request district assistance when needed.
  • Use lab‑management software to control access and use of lab computers.
  • Maintain an inventory of all technology‑related equipment.
  • Ensure regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance.
Qualifications
  • Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Google Docs; check email frequently.
  • Willingness to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
