Part Time English Language Learner Paraprofessional – Canyon View Middle School (Job )

Hours:

27.5 hours per week

• Assists instructional personnel in teaching language arts to non‑native English speaking pupils, using courses of study adopted by the ICSD Professional Learning Department and other appropriate activities.
• Instructs pupils in basic communication skills to facilitate their transition into the regular instructional program.
• Provides individualized and small‑group instruction in math, science, and social studies as needed, adapting the curriculum to each pupil's needs.
• Participates in the development, maintenance, and implementation of classroom‑management systems.
• Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with fellow students.
• Maintains files and ensures compliance for each ELL student.
• Assists with language screening and testing using the WIDA screener and WIDA access language assessment.
• Attends district and school training as required, including all yearly online WIDA training.
• Interacts with parents as needed to support each student’s language development.
• Maintains regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance.
• Operates various office equipment such as computers, copiers, etc.
• Complies with established district policies and procedures.
