Mining Manager Role in Scenic Cedar City, Utah
Role OverviewAs the Mining Manager, you will lead geologically‑controlled mining operations, driving productivity, safety, and profitability while ensuring strict adherence to environmental regulations. You will collaborate with the geological team to spearhead strategic planning, operational supervision, and resource management, optimizing mining activities and achieving operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Strategic Mine Planning: Develop comprehensive mine plans and designs tailored to narrow‑veined skarn deposits, optimizing layouts and sequences to maximize ore recovery while minimizing dilution and loss.
- Operational Supervision: Lead and coordinate all mining activities—from drilling and blasting to loading and hauling—ensuring seamless operations and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Resource Optimization: Effectively manage mining resources, including equipment, personnel, and consumables, to meet production targets within budgetary constraints.
- Safety and Environmental Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, conducting inspections, audits, and training sessions.
- Environmental Stewardship: Implement environmental management practices to minimize the impact of mining operations, collaborating with the environmental team on reclamation plans.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts, monitor expenditures, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and generate regular performance reports.
- Production Cost Review: Direct review of mine production costs and product quality to modify production and inventory control programs for profitable operation.
- Accounting Records: Direct preparation of accounting records for budgetary, production efficiency, and other business purposes.
