The role focuses on overseeing the overall direction, completion, and financial performance of renewable EPC projects such as BESS, substations, wind, and large‑scale solar.
Responsibilities- Comprehensive management of all scopes required for renewable EPC construction (civil, fence, environmental, SWPPP, SPCC, mechanical, structural, substation, medium voltage, DC collections, BESS, SCADA, etc.)
- Engage and maintain positive relationships with local, state, and federal AHJs to secure permits and ensure code compliance.
- Develop relations with landowners, community leaders, emergency services, and businesses to promote positive community impact during construction.
- Build and sustain strategic client relationships to understand goals, objectives, and project requirements.
- Manage relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to align project outcomes.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of EPC projects within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Manage project constraints, including LOD, ESA Phase 1, buildable area, and hydrology studies.
- Compile and distribute pre‑design studies (PVSyst, geotech, hydro, surveys, pile testing, thermal‑resistivity studies).
- Oversee the entire design process from inception to IFCs, coordinating with design partners and owners’ specs.
- Manage substation design, procurement, and construction per SGIA requirements.
- Identify and negotiate private/utility crossing agreements for site locations.
- Allocate resources for water, sewer, electrical service, security, medical services (GEMS), and internet at the project office compound.
- Develop site compound, laydown yard, and logistics plans with the logistics superintendent.
- Interpret geotechnical reports and assess impacts on civil and structural designs.
- Coordinate civil design and construction, including grading, site balancing, trenching, pads, roadways, and stormwater management.
- Supervise structural design, material selection, and construction sequencing for wind loads, snow loads, pile types, tracker systems, module types, and concrete pads.
- Direct electrical design, material sourcing, and construction sequencing (HV, MV, LV, AC/DC power, voltage drops).
- Oversee SCADA, metering, utility requirements, ROC, control buildings, and NERC/FERC coordination.
- Manage security fence materials and construction in compliance with AHJ standards.
- Oversee O&M building design, construction, and commissioning (plumbing/HVAC, foundation, testing, hot/cold inverter commissioning, harmonics studies).
- Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for additional services, delivering added value.
- Allocate resources effectively (personnel, equipment, materials) to optimize project efficiency.
- Mentor and support the project management team, fostering professional development.
- Monitor performance, provide feedback, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to protect objectives.
- Implement QA/QC processes to ensure deliverables meet standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor budgets and financial performance, proactively addressing variances.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget changes with proper documentation.
- Prepare and present progress reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project processes.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project management or a related role, preferably in the EPC industry.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office Suite).
- Experience in business development or heavy client interaction a plus.
- Proven mentorship and leadership of project teams.
